It is different from 24-hour care, which uses rotating shifts so a caregiver is awake and working around the clock. Live-in is cheaper because the caregiver sleeps on site; 24-hour is right when the person needs attention through the night.
Live-in caregivers need a private room and breaks, and the household needs to be one a person can live in.
